Police Reports Against Spread Peace Reno

Spread Peace Reno update via Facebook

Try to control your gag reflex...Here it is:

There’s a lot to cover. We have a new potential television show, a new Peace PAL card and more so I’m going to just jump right in.

The past 3 months I’ve been looking at ways to financially empower people that want to go “do good” in the world. I’ve been looking at ways to deliver the life sustaining supplies to our homeless friends they need to stay alive. I don’t say that lightly.

Since starting Spread Peace Reno we’ve seen many of our homeless friends die on the streets. We’ve spent our own cash reserves and saw many people struggle to simply have what they need to go help others. This is unacceptable and what have been working tirelessly on solving the past few months.

(insert picture of Frances, one of the homeless ladies who died)

Frances died after being locked out of the bathroom at the park.

There are many reasons I’m passionate about this. And many times there are faces attached to those reasons. Faces like Frances. She lived in a bathroom at the park and warmed our heart with her joyous spirit. One cold, winter day the Police locked the bathroom and she died the next day.

(insert picture of Bob who also died)

Bob was found on the side of the Truckee river after a storm. He was found in a garbage bag trying to stay warm.

Bob was found in a trash bag, trying to stay warm. Mike died of unknown causes and another freind, Dale, was also found dead along side the Truckee River.

These people did not need to die when they did. This doesn't have to continue to happen year after year. The fact is the worlds problems could be solved with simply the difference between what people do and what they “could do”.

But for people to take action they need to be inspired to help others. They need to know there is no big and small and they need to know any kind act has no big or small. All are a miracle to the person in need.

We can end poverty. This is not some airy fairy idea. There’s research proving we can (http://www.movethemountain.org/)

Peace Tour: 2008: The Reiki Peace Garden on display in Benicia, California.

Tysha and I married a little more than two years ago and spent our first year together on The Peace Tour travelling with the Reiki Peace Garden. We met amazing people; many of whom inspired us to live the life we lead today.

After a year on The Peace Tour we choose Reno as a place to start our own Spread Peace Chapter. Our idea was to simply go out every day and look for someone we could help. We figured if we posted videos, others might be inspired by what they saw.

Although I know Reno could become the first big city in America to offer a meal to every one of the 6,000 people classified as homeless. It can’t happen without people having the resources needed to go out on the streets and deliver the 6,000 meals. This is too big to be accomplished by any one group but I believe it is an easy task if funded and groups come together to make it happen.

Now open!

In 2010 we started the Spread Peace Cafe with Randy and Roberta. It was started, in part, to be an example of a business making a difference and it has done so. This year you’ll see the cafe expand, grow and make a real difference to even more people in Reno. Opening restaurant in the winter was more challenging than we thought. It couldn't support us as owners and the Tams so Tysha and I gave our interest in the cafe back to Randy and Roberta over Christmas and are continuing to work on the projects you see here. They put up all the money and are working there every day and it was simply the right thing to do. Randy shared some exciting plans with me he has for 2011 and Tysha and I are excited because we know he’s just the guy to make it happen.

Tysha and I have been spending the past 3 months looking at ways to generate income for activists. We’ve met with companies in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Laguna Beach and more in an effort to find a business model that will create coalitions and teams to improve the quality of life not only in Reno but all over the country. We’ll be rolling out various parts oof our plan over the next couple of months.

The Peace Card! Coming to the USA soon!

1) International Peace PAL Card.

This has consumed me as I knew it was a way to not only fund Spread Peace Reno but many others wanting to make a difference. After a big search for a company to print Peace PAL cards I found a program that was beyond my wildest expectations.

This is what it will be. You pay $20 (annually) for a Peace Card, Local and national businesses give you a discount whenever you make a purchase and present your card The discount the business gives you is up to each individual business. Most are 10 to 20 percent.

All you do is swipe the card or give it them with your purchase. You pay the full price at the register. The discount is given and collected at the time of purchase. Half of what was saved is given back to the consumer in a monthly cash rebate and the other half goes to the non profit of the purchasers choice. A church in Los Angeles is now receiving more than $200,000 a month in donations using this business model. Wal-Mart, Staples, Target and others are examples of companies that will offer a discount when people use our new Peace PAL Card. This is coming out within 3 weeks and all Spread Peace Chapters and even other non profits will be able to participate. Everyone I’ve shown the card (and idea) to has been blown away!

(insert picture of a Hemp leaf. Each leaf has a word on it (Fuel, Paper, Housing, Inspiration, Textiles, Food, Oil). I'm guessing this is the logo of their new scam...The Hemp Network)

Hemp can heal the planet!

2) A New Hemp Company with Hemp Products.

This is new division of a publicly traded company that will launch today and a percentage of every order will go to supply nutritious, hemp food products to underprivileged children. I spoke to the CEO today and am excited about the supply of food this could provide. I ‘m talking to three other companies about doing the same. This relationship will not only supply food to people in need but as a Network marketing opportunity give activists a way to make the money they will need to be a powerful force for good in the world. I’ll be posting a video later today. I think you’ll be surprised at what I and a other passionate hemp activists have put together. This company sells worldwide and is looking for land to grow hemp in the USA, Although growing hemp is not currently allowed in the USA conversations have already been started with regulatory bodies here in the USA.

The launched the web site today. You can visit the web site at http://8228948.versativa.org/

Who can you help today?

3) Spread Peace Foundation

It was clear right away that we needed an umbrella organization with a broader mission than Spread Peace Reno to do national campaigns that help not only SPR but other chapters - and soon other non profits as well. The name is not set in stone. We’ve been meeting with others and some of the companies that will be sponsors finalizing the details. This will be really cool and one of the funding mechanisms to make everything else happen.

(insert picture collage similar to the one that used to be on spreadpeacereno.org)

To infinity and beyond!

4) New Television Show

We’re working with television executives now about being part of a new positive, uplifting television station. It would have lots of content online and would also have time each week on regular TV. Since our mission has been to simply go “do” and inspire others to ask themselves what they might be able - a television show makes perfect sense. We’re excited at the opportunity to host a show showcasing people “doing good” all over the country and we hope you tune in when we go live. Cross your fingers!

I could write pages on any one of these topics but will write more as each one goes live. I wanted to give everyone an update and let you know we truly appreciate your support and love.

Namaste,

Chris

An inspiration

“If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one” ~ Mother Teresa~

Now...it's our (the public turn) to contradict just a little of this :) Many of the former volunteers, and board members, have quit Spread Peace Reno due to unethical non-profit business. Allegation go from embezzlement, misuse of government food, poor accounting, not a 501(c)(3), not a church, MLM mastermind at work, etc.

I think the sad thing is that the people across the world really have no idea of the true picture here in Reno. I saw, with my very own eyes, what damage Spread Peace Reno has done to to area. As many of us will "swear" in court too, we know that Chris Tinney was always out to hit the limelight. Especially when the Cafe opened. The homeless, at Tent City on Record St., were very hurt by the exploitation for the Tinney's personal gain.

Many of volunteers will vouch for the anger that was cause when SPR just up and vanished from the area after the Cafe opened. Let's not forget to mention the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission. Chris actually had them hooked into helping feed the homeless only to bail out on them too.

After not paying the bill to the Northern Nevada Food Bank, losing the drop-off center, Street Teams vanishing, Pot exchange (Ummm...started with NO pots), using non-profit funds for their own use, the motel food delivery program flopping, etc...I can see why they only share what people WANT to hear.

I truly hope that everyone shares my blog with the world....just as Spread Peace Reno, the Peace Church, and "peace Pal" covered the world with "high hopes" and false advertising.

Let me remind everyone that this is from my own involvement in the community and is my own opinion and research. If you have anything to share...PLEASE do!

Peace is causing chaos in Reno

Hi everyone! I'm Teresa Pena and I have become a well known critic of Spread Peace Reno, The Peace Church, The Spread Peace Foundation, Spread Peace Las Vegas, and Spread Peace USA.
My intent here is to show what I have found to be fraudulent activity on behalf of these organizations. My research shows my own evaluations and others are welcome to contradict and question me.
I volunteered for this group, Spread Peace Reno, for less than 3 months early last year(2010). I was extremely ignorant in what a non-profit was until I had Chris Tinney tell me he would lie on the paperwork for the Northern Nevada Food Bank (to become a partner). Then I was outta there and began my investigation of this so-called non-profit. Boy was I dumb! To keep up with me you can also find me on facebook.

First of all, let me say that Spread Peace Reno is a registered non-profit in the state of Nevada. They are also Tax exempt for the state. They are NOT registered with the IRS and the public has been waiting over a year.

Within this year I have found out that SPR had their rent paid by a previous Board of Director (Pastor Ron). They have since fired him from the board for bringing out possible embezzlement of the non-profit funds.

As I look over the bank statements, I'm just in shock! I cannot believe that this organization would use "Peace Pal" money for their own personal usage!

I'm also curious that with a negative balance how they can continue to grow at such a rapid pace with no funding. Within months, they started Street Teams to pick up different nights of the week to feed the homeless on Record St and Tent City. Sounds great right? Wrong! The video tapings by Chris Tinney were just out of control. Even the homeless were getting upset at the flow of filming. Although, on the other hand, they were getting free meals and clothing. As thing grew, so did Spread Peace Reno's ability to sucker more people into this whole mumbo jumbo.

Oh wait...back to the bank statements :)

I'm actually REALLY wondering how you can account for this type of accounting and still grow. Are we missing some common sense here? I'll post more in my next blog also.

People are still wondering if Spread Peace Reno is really a church. They don't qualify as one per the definition from the IRS. So, they would have to get an EIN from the IRS. the one that is being used for "marketing purposes is as follows:

The reason I'm using this page for a reference is because all of the bankstatements also show that Chris and Tysha Tinney are putting their MLM businesses through the non-profit. I'm not sure if that came out right but what the heck! They have threatened quite a few of us for slander over the last 8 months anyways.

We have a lot of people who have been blocked from their Facebook sites because we were asking legitimate questions about their 501(c)(3) status and finances. I guess it's not peaceful to ask those things :)

I simply want answers to questions:
Are you a 501(c)(3)?
Why won't you show your finances to the public?
Where are your bylaws?
Articles of incorporation?
Why do you block people questions if you are a non-profit? Isn't this info required to maintain your status?
Did Pastor Ron pay your rent on Vine St.?
Did the Tams pay your rent at the Dickerson Road drop-off?
Why did you lie to the public about the Spread Peace Cafe giving a "2 for 1 special"?
What is the TRUE relationship of the Tinney's in the Cafe business? (This will be a whole different blog of course)
Why wouldn't you allow a homeless person to wheel food across the parking lot?
Why didn't you pay your bill with the Northern Nevada Food Bank?
Why aren't their Spread Peace Reno Minutes to account for all these huge changes?
Why wasn't your monthly reports to NNFB turned in on time?
Why did you use the local homeless population to increase your online support?
Why do you think you can keep running without being responsible for the actions of your non-profit?
What is your true mission?
How many businesses are you going to use for personal gain?
How do you feel about personal and business audits and why won't you hire a CPA to put the public opinion of fraud at rest?
Why do you keep switching your name around on documents?

These are just some of the things on my mind at the moment.
